Adam, Head of Research
What do you do at Newsec?
I’m Head of Research and Partner in the Swedish Advisory team. In short, my team & I provide our clients with data and market analysis of various kinds. There isn’t really a typical assignment - these can range from anything from a market analysis ahead of a logistics acquisition or a housing project, to a commercial establishment strategy for a municipality. Tailormade data deliveries - e.g. monthly or quarterly deliveries of yields, rents and vacancy rates for key target markets across the Nordics & Baltics for a client – have probably been our most popular product as of late.
Strategic projects such as helping companies move into new markets or segments, or assess the effectiveness of their existing strategy, are also in our wheelhouse and always a lot of fun.
I spend about 80% of my time on working with external clients, but also spend a fair bit of my time on developing our internal forecasts. We are then able to use these forecasts to provide even better advice to our clients.
What do you like the best about working at Newsec?
Definitely my colleagues and the people at Newsec in general. I’ve met some of my best friends at Newsec! I also like that I’ve been given a lot of freedom and had a lot of responsibility and trust placed in me, being allowed to lead a team even though I’m still relatively young.
The fact that we have the largest valuation & asset management operations in the Nordics, and therefore also most real estate data, which I can anonymize/aggregate and transform into insights for our clients is certainly also helpful in my day-to-day work!
What attracted you to Newsec?
Throughout my Master’s degree and my PhD, I read and used the Newsec Property Outlook, Newsec’s free bi-annual report where we provide a new take on a relevant trend on the property market. When I was looking for an internship during my PhD, it felt natural to contact the company who I felt had the best market reports. The rest, as they say, is history… :)
